Rowan Veterinary Centre Preston

EP Consulting successfully transformed a former pig farm into a veterinary centre with a £450k new build project in Freckleton near Preston.

Scope of Work

Our comprehensive services included a detailed feasibility study, budget costings, and mechanical and electrical design. We ensured compliance with Part L2 Building Regulations and integrated sustainable technologies such as ground source heat pumps, rainwater harvesting, and solar water heating. The design focused on efficient heating, water management, and energy use, promoting sustainability and operational efficiency.

Challenges and Solutions

The project posed unique challenges due to the site's history and the need for sustainable features. EP Consulting addressed these by implementing a system combining ground source heat pumps and solar water heating, enhancing energy efficiency and lowering operating costs. Additionally, rainwater harvesting was incorporated to optimise water usage and conservation.

Results and Impact

The Rowan Veterinary Centre now offers a modern, eco-friendly environment for animal care. The integration of sustainable technologies has enhanced operational efficiency and reduced environmental impact.
