South Charnwood Leisure Centre, a £2.5m Refurbishment and Extension

EP Consulting was integral to the £2.5m refurbishment and extension of South Charnwood Leisure Centre in Syston. This project enhanced the facility with a new health suite, fitness suite, dance studio, and more, including café/kitchen and office spaces.

Scope of Work

We provided comprehensive services including feasibility studies, budget costing, and mechanical and electrical design. Our role included incorporating renewable energy solutions. We produced a thermal model for the building to ensure optimal energy efficiency, created a BRUKL report and ensured compliance with Part L2 Building Regulations.

Challenges and Solutions

The 30-week timeline required efficient coordination to integrate new amenities, including a café/kitchen area and updated changing rooms. We successfully managed these challenges by optimising energy efficiency and maintaining high standards of performance throughout the extension.

Results and Impact

The upgraded South Charnwood Leisure Centre now offers modern amenities that promote community fitness and well-being. EP Consulting’s engineering solutions contributed to a modern, energy-efficient centre that supports diverse recreational activities and aligns with sustainability goals.
