Hermitage Leisure Centre, a £1.2m Energy-Efficient Renovation

EP Consulting transformed Hermitage Leisure Centre in Leicestershire with a £1.2m remodel. This project transformed existing changing rooms into a modern ‘village’ facility, complete with new showers, unisex toilets, and upgraded plant systems, including the installation of a combined heat and power unit.

Scope of Work

We managed feasibility studies and budget costing, and provided comprehensive mechanical and electrical design. Our work included the installation of a combined heat and power unit, environmental control plant, and replacement of the pool plant, ensuring compliance with Part L2 Building Regulations.

Challenges and Solutions

 The 30-week project required precise integration of new systems with the existing infrastructure. We addressed this by implementing energy-efficient, high-performance solutions that enhanced functionality while meeting regulatory standards.
