Entertainment Hive Whinfell Forest

EP Consulting delivered the mechanical and electrical design for the new Entertainment Hive at Whinfell Forest, Cumbria, for Center Parcs.

This is the second Entertainment Hive we have designed for Center Parcs, and demonstrates our expertise as UK building services engineers specialising in low-carbon, energy-efficient M&E design for leisure and hospitality developments.

Scope of Work

Our team provided full mechanical design and electrical design services, including HVAC systems, power distribution, lighting design and data infrastructure for five interactive attractions. We developed intelligent climate control strategies, zoned lighting and energy-efficient system selection to support high occupancy levels and digitally intensive activities.

Engineering Approach

The project required careful management of variable heat loads, fluctuating occupancy and immersive gaming technology. Through early coordination and detailed M&E design, we integrated sustainable building services aligned with the architectural vision.

Results

The completed Entertainment Hive is a modern, low-carbon leisure space delivering strong operational energy performance and an enhanced visitor experience, demonstrating our expertise in mechanical and electrical engineering for leisure and public sector clients.
