Fiskerton Village Hall Rebuild, a £740k Development
EP Consulting played a pivotal role in the creation of Fiskerton Village Hall, a modern £740k single-storey two hall community facility in Lincolnshire. This project was particularly significant as it replaced the original hall, which had been destroyed by fire. Our team was entrusted with delivering a complete engineering solution for this new space, which serves as a vital hub for the local parish.
Scope of Work
We provided comprehensive building services, including feasibility studies, budget costing, and full mechanical and electrical design. Our work covered heating, ventilation, and electrical systems, as well as the installation of a hearing loop and PA system. We also ensured compliance with Part L2 Building Regulations, by performing thermal modelling to optimise the hall's energy performance. Our attention to detail in these areas ensured the facility met both functional and regulatory standards.
Challenges and Solutions
The 35-week construction timeline required tight coordination to integrate advanced mechanical and electrical systems within the new hall. One of the key challenges was maintaining a balance between functional design, compliance with energy regulations, and ensuring a seamless transition from the old hall to the new. Our team overcame these challenges through careful planning and proactive management, delivering on time and within budget.
Results and Impact
Fiskerton Village Hall is now a versatile, energy-efficient space that supports the community’s activities. EP Consulting’s engineering expertise has helped create a modern and sustainable facility that meets the needs of local residents while enhancing the hall’s functionality. This project is another example of our commitment to delivering high-quality, impactful engineering solutions for local communities.
