The Hollies, a £1m Modern Residence with Renewable Energy Solutions
EP Consulting delivered full mechanical and electrical (M&E) design and site supervision for The Hollies, a £1m project in Sutton in Ashfield. Developed for Quality Care (EM) Ltd, this project involved constructing four new blocks on a former TA Centre site to provide residential accommodation for adults with learning difficulties.
Scope of Work
During this 30-week contract, our role encompassed feasibility studies, budget costing, and complete M&E design. We implemented renewable energy solutions and ensured compliance with HBN 03-01, HTMs and Part L2 Building Regulations. We produced a thermal model for the building to ensure optimal energy efficiency, created a BRUKL report and ensured compliance with Part L2 Building Regulations, creating a supportive and sustainable living environment.
Challenges and Solutions
The project required integrating advanced M&E systems within a new build while adhering to environmental and regulatory standards. We successfully addressed these challenges by incorporating energy-efficient technologies and designing systems tailored to the needs of residents.
Results and Impact
The Hollies now offer a modern, energy-efficient residence for adults with learning difficulties. EP Consulting’s expertise in M&E design and supervision has ensured a high-quality, functional living space that meets both regulatory requirements and the specific needs of its occupants.
