Wheatbridge Road Health Village, a £4m Sustainable Healthcare Project

EP Consulting proudly delivered the £4m Wheatbridge Road Health Village in Chesterfield, a cutting-edge facility for Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Trust. This new build features PCT offices and GP surgeries, designed to enhance community healthcare services with modern, efficient spaces.

Scope of Work

We provided comprehensive services including feasibility studies, budget costing, and detailed mechanical and electrical design. Partnering with James Totty Partnership, we incorporated low and zero-carbon installations and renewable energy solutions. We produced a thermal model for the building to ensure optimal energy efficiency, created a BRUKL report and ensured compliance with Part L2 Building Regulations.

Challenges and Solutions

The project’s scope required integrating advanced systems into a large, multi-functional facility within a 46-week timeline. Our team tackled these challenges by implementing innovative, energy-efficient solutions and achieving high BREEAM ratings, ensuring the new health village was environmentally friendly and operationally efficient.
