Pathfinders Neurological Care Centre

EP Consulting played a crucial role in the £2.5m refurbishment and new construction of the Pathfinders Neurological Care Centre at Sherwood Energy Village. Developed for Bikow Developments Ltd, this facility provides 48 bedrooms and a rehabilitation centre for adults with acquired brain injuries, blending innovative engineering with compassionate care.

Scope of Work

We provided feasibility studies, budget costing, and complete mechanical and electrical design. Collaborating with Jackson Design Associates, we integrated fire alarms, nurse call systems, IRS TV, access control, underfloor heating, kitchen extract systems, ventilation, and gas safety controls. Our designs prioritised energy efficiency, incorporating renewable energy solutions and ensuring compliance with Part L2 Building Regulations.

Challenges and Solutions

The project required integrating complex systems within a 34-week timeline. Our engineers used low-carbon technologies and heat recovery ventilation to ensure energy efficiency and patient comfort, overcoming the challenges of modern healthcare facility design.
