EP Consulting completed a £109k boiler replacement scheme at Whitchurch Community Hospital in Shropshire for the Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust. This project focused on modernising the heating infrastructure, enhancing energy efficiency, and improving reliability in a critical healthcare setting.
Scope of Work
Our team conducted comprehensive feasibility studies and budget costing to guide the installation of a new boiler plant, flues, buffer vessel heating circulation pumps, and a sealed system pressurisation unit. The design also included upgrades to mains cold water and gas pipework and modifications to the Trend IQ3 Mechanical Services Control Panel, ensuring compliance with Part L2 Building Regulations.
Challenges and Solutions
Over an 8-week period, we worked closely with Focus Consultants to minimise disruption to hospital operations. The project involved removing six existing Keston gas-fired boilers and associated systems. Our engineers developed innovative solutions to integrate new equipment with the existing infrastructure, optimising space and ensuring seamless functionality.
