Skegness & District General Hospital Lighting Upgrade
EP Consulting completed a £70k lighting upgrade at Skegness & District General Hospital for Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust. This project focused on enhancing illumination and energy efficiency in the hospital’s corridors and Casualty Department, creating a safer and more comfortable environment for both patients and staff.
Scope of Work
Our team conducted thorough feasibility studies and budget costing to ensure meticulous planning and execution of the lighting replacement scheme. We collaborated with Focus Consultants to design and implement an advanced lighting system that complies with Part L2 Building Regulations. Our electrical design not only enhanced lighting levels but also incorporated energy-efficient technologies to significantly reduce energy consumption.
Challenges and Solutions
The 12-week project involved upgrading outdated lighting systems within a fully operational hospital. To minimise disruptions and ensure a smooth installation, we coordinated closely with hospital staff. Our engineers developed innovative solutions to address spatial constraints and seamlessly integrate the new, energy-efficient lighting systems into the existing infrastructure.
Results and Impact
The lighting upgrade at Skegness & District General Hospital has significantly enhanced energy efficiency, reducing operational costs. EP Consulting’s implementation of advanced, energy-efficient lighting solutions has improved overall sustainability and contributed to a more environmentally responsible facility.
