Queen's Medical Centre Endoscopy Unit
Overview
EP Consulting provided the mechanical and electrical building services design for the new £12 million Endoscopy Unit at Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham. The completed facility expands the Trust's endoscopy department, increasing clinical capacity and creating a modern environment for delivering more advanced procedures.
The Challenge
Healthcare buildings place unique demands on building services. Every system must be reliable, energy efficient and designed to support critical clinical environments, while ensuring patients, clinicians and support staff can work safely and comfortably.
The new endoscopy unit required building services that would integrate seamlessly with the existing hospital, while providing the resilience and flexibility expected of a modern NHS facility.
Our Solution
Working closely with the wider design team, EP Consulting delivered the mechanical and electrical engineering design for the new department. Our focus was on creating practical, efficient building services that support the day-to-day operation of the unit whilst meeting the strict standards required within healthcare environments.
The Outcome
The completed development provides three procedure rooms, increasing the hospital's capacity to carry out complex endoscopic procedures in a purpose-built clinical setting. The investment strengthens healthcare provision across Nottinghamshire and provides patients and clinicians with facilities designed to support high-quality care for many years to come.
