Overview

EP Consulting is proud to have supported the delivery of the £8.3m Mansfield Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC), a major NHS healthcare infrastructure project in Nottinghamshire designed to improve access to diagnostic services, reduce waiting times, and support earlier diagnosis across the region.

Located alongside Mansfield Community Hospital on Stockwell Gate, the purpose-built facility was delivered for Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as part of the national NHS Community Diagnostic Centre programme. The development strengthens local healthcare provision by bringing a wide range of diagnostic services closer to communities.

Scope of Work

EP Consulting provided mechanical and electrical building services engineering design support for the Mansfield Community Diagnostic Centre, ensuring the facility was delivered as a reliable, efficient and future-ready healthcare environment.

Our scope included coordinated M&E design input to support the integration of advanced diagnostic equipment and clinical workflows within a high-performance healthcare setting. The centre delivers a range of services including MRI, CT scanning, endoscopy and blood testing, requiring robust engineering systems capable of supporting continuous clinical demand.

We focused on delivering compliant, energy-conscious and maintainable building services solutions aligned with NHS standards and modern healthcare design requirements.

The project required close coordination with the wider delivery team to integrate complex mechanical and electrical systems within a busy healthcare environment.

The completed Mansfield Community Diagnostic Centre provides capacity for up to 100,000 diagnostic tests per year, significantly improving access to healthcare services across Nottinghamshire.

By consolidating multiple diagnostic pathways within a single community-based facility, the centre reduces pressure on acute hospital services and enables faster diagnosis and treatment for patients.
