Holiday Inn Ellesmere Port, Development of a Grade II Listed Building

EP Consulting managed the £4.2 million development of a new Holiday Inn Hotel in Ellesmere Port. This project includes a 100-bedroom hotel and leisure complex within a Grade II listed building. Completed in 54 weeks, it combines modern amenities with historic charm, catering to leisure and business travellers.

Scope of Work

Our team provided comprehensive feasibility studies, budget costing, and mechanical and electrical design services. The project involved designing and installing state-of-the-art HVAC systems, electrical infrastructure, and advanced pool filtration systems. We produced a thermal model for the building to ensure optimal energy efficiency, created a BRUKL report and ensured compliance with Part L2 Building Regulations. Additionally, renewable energy solutions were integrated to reduce the facility’s carbon footprint.

Challenges and Solutions

Designing modern amenities within the constraints of a Grade II listed building presented significant challenges.
