Pancake House, Center Parcs Sherwood Forest
EP Consulting contributed to a £600k transformation at the Pancake House in Center Parcs, Sherwood Forest, enabling self-sufficiency through on-site food production. This project entailed a strategic extension and remodelling of the back-of-house area to support efficient operations and enhance staff facilities.
Scope of Work
Our team handled feasibility studies, budget costing, and comprehensive mechanical and electrical design for this 14-week project. Key upgrades included enhanced working spaces, IT systems, chilled storage, an equipment room, and dedicated locker/toilet facilities, providing separate male and female amenities. We improved electrical distribution and replaced the 27-year-old boilers, adding an external service and storage yard to support efficient operations.
Challenges and Solutions
Adapting the space for on-site production involved meticulous planning and expert integration of renewable energy solutions. Upgrading dated electrical and mechanical systems posed challenges due to space and compatibility. Our engineers produced a thermal model for the building to ensure optimal energy efficiency, created a BRUKL report and ensured compliance with Part L2 Building Regulations.
Results and Impact
The transformed Pancake House now supports self-sufficient food production and improved staff areas, enhancing operational efficiency and staff comfort. This successful project highlights EP Consulting’s expertise in sustainable and efficient design, underscoring our commitment to practical solutions for evolving client needs.
