Pancake House, Center Parcs Longleat Forest, Refurbishment and Extension

EP Consulting has successfully completed a £1.6m refurbishment and extension of the Pancake House at Center Parcs Longleat Forest. This major project modernised the mechanical and electrical systems, significantly enhancing functionality and guest experience.

Scope of Work

Our team conducted comprehensive feasibility studies and budget costing to guide this extensive refurbishment. The mechanical upgrade involved removing outdated systems and installing new mechanical ventilation, low-pressure hot water (LPHW) systems, water services, natural gas systems, and comfort cooling. Additionally, we revamped above-ground drainage and controls installations.

On the electrical side, we upgraded the low-voltage electrical supply distribution, installed new sub-main cables and switchgear, and provided electrical supplies for kitchen and servery equipment. The project also included internal and external lighting improvements, the 13A power installation, fire alarm system, music system, and data and telecommunications infrastructure.

Challenges and Solutions

Ensuring operational continuity during the renovation was a key challenge. EP Consulting developed a phased implementation strategy to integrate new systems with existing ones seamlessly, minimising disruption and maintaining operational efficiency throughout the project.

Results and Impact

The refurbishment has created a more reliable and energy-efficient environment at the Pancake House. Guests of Center Parcs Longleat Forest now enjoy an enhanced experience, with improved comfort and operational efficiency.
