EP Consulting played a key role in the £250k refurbishment of the C Block offices at Derbyshire Constabulary Headquarters in Ripley, creating a modern and efficient workspace.

Scope of Work

Our project involved a comprehensive mechanical and electrical (M&E) services design for the office refurbishment. We focused on delivering a functional and efficient workspace by providing detailed feasibility studies, budget costing, and M&E design. Our work included the integration of renewable energy solutions. We produced a thermal model for the building to ensure optimal energy efficiency, created a BRUKL report and ensured compliance with Part L2 Building Regulations.

Challenges and Solutions

Refurbishing an active police headquarters required careful management to avoid disrupting ongoing operations. EP Consulting addressed these challenges by implementing a phased approach to the refurbishment. This strategy allowed us to integrate new systems with minimal disruption, ensuring that the updated infrastructure met the operational needs of the Constabulary while improving overall functionality.

Results and Impact

Completed in 20 weeks, the refurbishment of C Block has resulted in a modernised office environment that enhances operational efficiency. The upgraded offices now offer Derbyshire Constabulary a functional and energy-efficient workspace, supporting their daily operations effectively.
