Transforming New College Nottingham with a £1.2m M&E Upgrade
EP Consulting played a pivotal role in the £1.2m rolling 4-year contract for New College Nottingham, delivering essential mechanical and electrical (M&E) services across multiple campuses. This extensive project aimed to modernise educational facilities and ensure efficient infrastructure across the college.
Scope of Work
Our team provided a comprehensive M&E design and consultancy package for a range of projects. Key tasks included:
• Refurbishment of wet laboratories at Basford Hall Campus.
• Relocation of laboratories at Stoney Street Campus.
• Installation of new fire alarm and emergency lighting systems at Basford Hall and Bath Street Campuses.
• Modifications to teaching areas and amenity services at Basford Hall Campus.
Our services encompassed lighting, emergency lighting, 13A power, access control systems, fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV systems, heating, ventilation, hot and cold water services, and gas installations.
Challenges and Solutions
Managing a diverse range of projects across multiple campuses required meticulous planning and coordination. EP Consulting worked closely with New College Nottingham to ensure minimal disruption to ongoing educational activities. We integrated advanced low carbon and zero carbon installations, renewable energy solutions, and adhered to Part L2 Building Regulations and BREEAM standards to ensure sustainability and energy efficiency.
