Lincoln Minster School, a £16m M&E Design for Educational Facilities
EP Consulting played a crucial role in the £16m four-phase development of Lincoln Minster School, delivering comprehensive mechanical and electrical design services for a series of new facilities. The project spanned four years and was designed to modernise and expand the school’s infrastructure.
Scope of Work
Our team provided a full suite of M&E design services across the four phases, which included the construction of new teaching blocks with classrooms, an IT suite, and labs; a new sixth form block; a new block housing a canteen and dining hall; a new sports hall with changing facilities; and a music block featuring a 300-seater auditorium, music-specific classrooms, and 20 practice rooms.
Challenges and Solutions
The phased nature of the project required meticulous planning and coordination to ensure minimal disruption to the school’s operations. EP Consulting utilised advanced design techniques and close collaboration with Franklin Ellis Architects to integrate low carbon and zero carbon installations, enhancing the sustainability of the new facilities. Adherence to Part L2 Building Regulations was maintained throughout the project.
Results and Impact
The completed project has significantly enhanced the educational environment at Lincoln Minster School. The modern facilities, designed with sustainability in mind, provide students with state-of-the-art resources and spaces that support a wide range of academic and extracurricular activities. EP Consulting’s expertise in mechanical and electrical design has ensured that the new buildings are both energy-efficient and fit for purpose, contributing to the school’s long-term sustainability goals.
