Framlingham College Sixth Form Centre Development
EP Consulting played a pivotal role in the £1.6m development of a new Sixth Form Centre at Framlingham College in Suffolk. The project was designed to create modern, multifunctional spaces for students, including study and social areas, a university and careers resource centre, and a new café and social hub.
Scope of Work
Our team provided a comprehensive Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) design package, which included detailed feasibility studies, budget costing, and the design of all mechanical and electrical systems. We ensured full compliance with Part L2 Building Regulations, focusing on creating a functional, comfortable, and energy-efficient environment tailored to the needs of Sixth Form students.
Challenges and Solutions
Integrating the new Sixth Form Centre with the existing college structures required meticulous planning and coordination. EP Consulting collaborated closely with Synergy Construction & Property Consultants LLP to ensure seamless integration with minimal disruption to the college’s daily operations. Our M&E design solutions were developed to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability while meeting the unique demands of an educational environment.
Results and Impact
Completed within a 40-week timeframe, the new Sixth Form Centre, along with the refurbished adjacent buildings, has significantly upgraded Framlingham College’s educational facilities.
The modern spaces provide an ideal environment for study and social interaction, fostering both academic achievement and personal development. EP Consulting’s expertise in M&E design has ensured that the new facilities are not only sustainable and energy-efficient but also fully equipped to support the school community’s needs.
