EP Consulting successfully completed the £500k re-modelling of the Grade 2* Listed Old Magistrates Courts in Loughborough, transforming it into a modern Citizen’s Advice Bureau and Council offices. Scope of Work
The project involved converting the courthouse into a Citizen’s Advice Bureau and Council offices on the ground floor, with alternative lease offices on the first floor. EP Consulting provided feasibility studies, budget costing, mechanical and electrical design, ensuring compliance with Part L2 Building Regulations.
Challenges and Solutions
Renovating a Grade 2* Listed building required meticulous planning and sensitivity to historical features. Our team conducted detailed feasibility studies and budget planning to stay on track. We designed and implemented mechanical and electrical systems that preserved the building’s heritage while ensuring modern functionality. Special attention was given to meet Part L2 Building Regulations without compromising the building’s character.

Completed within the 40-week schedule and on budget, the re-modelled Old Magistrates Courts now offers modern, efficient spaces for the Citizen’s Advice Bureau, Council offices, and adaptable lease offices.
