This £1.4 million renovation and alteration of the historic Mansfield Town Hall in Nottinghamshire, completed for Mansfield District Council, highlights our expertise in revitalising Grade II* Listed buildings. This project transformed the town hall into functional office and retail spaces while sympathetically preserving the historic character of the building.
Scope of Work
The project involved major alterations and renovations over a nine-month period to create modern office and retail facilities within the existing Town Hall. Our team provided a comprehensive mechanical and electrical design package, ensuring all new installations met the exacting standards required for a listed building. The scope included feasibility studies and budget costing. We created a BRUKL report and ensured compliance with Part L2 Building Regulations. We also incorporated low and zero-carbon installations and renewable energy solutions to enhance the building's sustainability.
Challenges and Solutions
Renovating a Grade II* Listed building presented unique challenges, including the need to preserve historical features while upgrading the infrastructure. Our team, consisting of an Electrical Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, Overseeing Director, and Coordinating CAD Engineer, meticulously planned and executed the renovations.
