The Hub at South Normanton, an £8m Community Development
EP Consulting has completed an £8m community development project in South Normanton, transforming it into a 3,500 square metre community resource known as ‘The Hub’. This project demonstrates our expertise in delivering multifunctional spaces that cater to diverse community needs.
Scope of Work
Our work involved developing a range of facilities, including PCT offices, a Medical Centre, and 24 residential apartments on the second floor. We provided extensive services, from feasibility studies and budget costing to mechanical and electrical design. Additionally, we integrated renewable energy solutions to ensure compliance with Part L2 Building Regulations and enhance the building’s sustainability.
Challenges and Solutions
Developing a multifunctional community hub required careful coordination and advanced planning. Our team conducted detailed feasibility studies and budget planning to keep the project on track. We designed mechanical and electrical systems tailored to the unique needs of the community space. The integration of renewable energy solutions further enhanced the building’s sustainability.
