Grade 2 Listed Staveley Hall £1.1m Heritage Restoration
EP Consulting have expertly completed the £1.1m Lottery Funded restoration project for Staveley Town Council, revitalising the Grade 2 Listed Staveley Hall. This project illustrates our expertise in heritage restoration and sustainable building services engineering.
Scope of Work
The restoration transformed Staveley Hall into a dynamic Heritage Centre with exhibition areas on the ground floor, Hall Manager’s accommodation, and conference rooms. The upper floors were converted into modern commercial office spaces, all accessible via a newly installed lift.
The stable block was updated with improved kitchen and toilet facilities, new offices for Staveley Town Council, and rentable meeting/function rooms. Our work included a detailed review of mechanical and electrical systems to enhance functionality and comfort throughout the building.
Challenges and Solutions
Restoring a Grade 2 Listed building required careful planning to preserve historical features while integrating modern amenities. We performed comprehensive feasibility studies, budget costing, and designed mechanical and electrical systems that adhered to Part L2 Building Regulations. Our solutions included incorporating renewable energy technologies and achieving BREEAM standards, optimised through thermal modelling to ensure energy efficiency.
Results and Impact
Completed within the 60-week schedule and on budget, the restored Staveley Hall now features updated facilities while preserving its historical character. The revitalised Heritage Centre, office spaces, and meeting rooms enhance community engagement and provide versatile spaces for various events.
