New Walk Museum & Art Gallery £800k Remodelling and Extension
EP Consulting is pleased to showcase our role in the £800k remodelling and extension of Leicester's New Walk Museum & Art Gallery. This project revitalised a Grade 2 Listed two-storey building, enhancing its functionality while prioritising energy efficiency.
Scope of Work
Our team delivered a comprehensive mechanical and electrical (M&E) design package, which included feasibility studies, budget costing, and innovative solutions. The project focused on improving energy efficiency by integrating renewable energy solutions and ensuring compliance with Part L2 Building Regulations.
Significant infrastructure upgrades included enhanced lighting, climate control, and the integration of energy-efficient systems. The extension was designed to complement the historic character of the Grade 2 Listed building, achieving a harmonious blend of modern and traditional elements.
Challenges and Solutions
The primary challenge was to incorporate modern upgrades while preserving the historic integrity of the Grade 2 Listed building. EP Consulting’s meticulous planning and design approach ensured that the new systems were seamlessly integrated without compromising the building’s historical value.
