Bakewell’s New £11m NHS Health Centre: Sustainable Design
EP Consulting is proud to announce the completion of the £11 million Newholme Health Centre in Bakewell, set to open on 23 September 2024. This state-of-the-art facility represents a major advancement in healthcare for the Derbyshire Dales community.
With sustainability at its core, the centre has earned the prestigious BREEAM Very Good certification. Our team at EP Consulting played a crucial role in its development, focusing on energy-efficient mechanical and electrical design that respects the heritage of the Peak District.
Built by Kier Group, the Newholme Health Centre will replace the old hospital, providing a comprehensive range of NHS outpatient services and a new ambulance station. This collaboration between Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust and East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust marks a significant step forward in modern healthcare.
The construction was completed on 30 August 2024, with the official handover to the NHS beginning a new chapter for healthcare in Bakewell. The facility will soon accommodate services like audiology, physiotherapy, and mental health care, ensuring that the community receives top-quality healthcare for years to come.
EP Consulting is honoured to have contributed to this transformative project, aligning with our commitment to sustainability and renewable energy. We look forward to the positive impact the Newholme Health Centre will have on the local community and are proud to set a new benchmark in healthcare infrastructure.
