Alex Byrne Celebrates Five Years at EP Consulting

EP Consulting is pleased to celebrate Senior Design Engineer Alex Byrne, who marks five years with the company this month.

Alex joined EP Consulting in September 2021 after graduating from the University of Nottingham with a First Class M.Eng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering with Industrial Year. He joined the practice with previous experience in the renewables sector and has since developed his expertise across a wide range of building services projects.

During his time with EP Consulting, Alex has worked on mechanical engineering design across healthcare, leisure, retail and education, supporting clients with the development of efficient, compliant and practical building services solutions.

His technical knowledge has continued to grow alongside the industry's increasing focus on energy efficiency and decarbonisation. In 2025, Alex became a Level 5 Low Carbon Energy Assessor (LCEA), adding further expertise in low-carbon building design, energy performance and renewable technologies.

Alex is also currently working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) professional registration, continuing his commitment to professional development and engineering excellence.
