About The Role

You will take senior responsibility for electrical design delivery across a varied portfolio of healthcare (NHS), public sector, leisure, commercial, and specialist projects, working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams, influencing design strategy and ensuring technical excellence.

Key responsibilities:

·        Electrical building services design from concept through to RIBA Stage 7

·        Preparation of calculations, specifications, drawings, schedules, and tender documentation

·        Coordination with mechanical, energy, and sustainability engineers to deliver compliant, low-energy designs

·        Ensuring compliance with BS 7671, Building Regulations Part L, and BREEAM

·        Attendance at design team and client meetings, representing EP Consulting

·        Preparation of feasibility studies, budget cost estimates, and technical reports

·        Liaison with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders

·        Site inspections, quality checks, and associated reporting

About You

Essential Requirements:

·        5+ years’ experience in electrical building services design

·        Strong knowledge of BS 7671, emergency lighting, and fire alarm design

·        Experience delivering electrical design within a consultancy or contractor environment

·        Ability to operate in a senior, client-facing role

·        Relevant qualification such as HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related discipline

·        Competent user of AutoCAD and at least one recognised electrical design software

·        Hold a full UK driving licence

 

Desirable Requirements:

·        Experience using Revit MEP and/or AutoCAD

·        Working towards or holding IET or CIBSE membership

·        Competent with SAP, SBEM, LZC reporting or low-carbon design

·        Experience working on healthcare, public sector, or complex commercial projects
