Congratulations to Mark Hobbs who has completed his Dynamic Building Simulation training course.

Mark is now fully compliant with TAS software which will enable him to produce 3D models for Part L2 as well as heating and cooling sizing and overheating analysis.

New Junior School for Worksop College

New Junior School for Worksop College

EP Consulting are delighted to have been appointed M&E consultants for the final phase of Worksop College’s multi-million pound programme of developments, this being the relocation of its current Prep School to a new purpose-built facility within the grounds of the college.

The design will consist of a standalone whole new Junior School.

Work is expected on site in Summer 2016.

Design work is ongoing for a new build Woodward veterinary surgery to replace the existing practice in Ashby-de-la-Zouch.

The new building is to be located on a brownfield site and will cater for large medical and surgical caseloads as well as hospitalised animals, together with emergency cases.

BRE Innovation Park, Watford Opens

The official opening of Üserhuus / Tigh Grian zero carbon homes took place on 11 September 2015 showing the housebuilding sector's continued commitment to delivering sustainable and affordable homes.

The homes are factory-constructed and delivered to site by road. They were craned into place over an eight hour period.

Sustainable and Innovative Social Housing

Sustainable and Innovative Social Housing

Works are continuing on this flagship development at Innovation Park, Watford for BRE to create net zero carbon emissions social housing.

The design incorporates TERRA COTTA photovoltaic as roofing and cladding material as a well as being airtight and well insulated, without compromising on comfort or living quality, and minimising environmental damage.

EP Consulting have been instrumental in providing consultancy for the renewable technology in the form of SAP calculations together with technical advice on U-values and thermal bridging.

The official launch is planned for early September 2015.

Bridgford Hall Planning Permission Received

Bridgford Hall Planning Permission Received

Bridgford Hall now has planning permission together with listed building consent for its refurbishment plans.

M&E design work is ongoing to sympathetically integrate building services into this Grade 2 listed building.

The works consist of the creation of a Registrars (Weddings, Births & Deaths, Nationality Checking) facility on the ground floor and serviced apartments on the first and second floors. There will also be two new extensions; one for the apartments main entrance and for a new lift and staircase.

Work is expected to be complete early 2017.

New Health Centre to replace Heanor Memorial Hospital

Heanor Memorial Hospital is due to be demolished having been deemed to have "reached the end of its life”. The hospital has been closed to patients since September 2013.

EP Consulting have been appointed M&E design consultants and are working closely with Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation on a £2.5m project to build a new health centre on the site. Our extensive knowledge of health and medical facilities will be invaluable on this project.

It is envisaged the new health centre will open in 2017 having achieved a BREEAM ‘excellent’ standard.
