Our Team

The key members of our design team are listed below. In addition to these key members, we have a support team of CAD operators and secretarial / admin support.

All our design team are fully trained in the use of AutoCAD, Amtech and Cymap software to ensure high quality designs are attained for each project.

Experience

Alan commenced his career in 1976 as an apprentice for a national building services contractor, before qualifying as an engineer and running both contract only and design and build projects for national high street retail clients such as Boots and Sainsbury’s.

In 1985 Alan made the move from contracting to consultancy with Edwards & Partners providing design and supervision of projects from client inception through to contract completion and commissioning.

Progressing through Associate Partner to full Partner of the practice and becoming a Director of EP Consulting in 2000 when the practice became a limited company.

Alan’s vast experience and knowledge encompasses retail (within the UK and Europe), healthcare, leisure, commercial and historic / listed buildings.

Experience

Robert joined E P Consulting (formerly Edwards & Partners) in 1985 as a Trainee Engineer and achieved Chartered Status in 1997.  In the same year, he became an Associate Partner within the company and then a Director of EP Consulting in 2001 when the practice became a limited company.

During his career he has gained vast experience as an Electrical Engineer working on projects up to £15,000,000.

He is now the head of the Electrical Design Department, and in particular, the lead designer for the electrical aspects of all healthcare projects, be they hospital based or GP surgeries / medical centres, and has an excellent knowledge of the requirements and standards of NHS Trusts and NHS Primary Care Trusts.

Rob's vast experience and knowledge also encompasses sports and leisure, commercial and education facilities (both private and local authority) together with installations within historic / listed buildings.

Experience

Paul joined the team in 1999 as Junior Mechanical Engineer and since then has progressed through Associate Partner to Director in 2007, developing vast experience as a Mechanical Engineer working on projects up to £10,000,000.

The youngest of the Directors, Paul is responsible for the development of the Renewable Energy Sectors, trying to integrate Energy Saving and Carbon Reduction measures into the schemes ensuring that the items are of actual benefit to end users and owners.

Paul has vast experience and knowledge in leisure, commercial and healthcare schemes.

Experience

Steve commenced his career 1972 as an apprentice within the Electrical Contracting industry, almost entirely with East Midlands Electricity.  Having started as an electrician the last 10 years was as a Project Manager undertaking medium to large industrial and commercial contracts.

Steve joined the team in June 2000 as Senior Electrical Design Engineer. 

Having attained ONC qualifications in Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, further in house training covering a wide range of tasks was successfully completed during the period of employment.

Steve has a vast knowledge within retail (within the UK and Europe), the emergency services, hospitals and education facilities.

He has particular expertise in the installation of UPS systems, generators and HV switchgear.

Experience

Roy joined the team 2012 as Mechanical Engineer and has had significant involvement in number of projects since then.

Since 1984 he has accumulated considerable knowledge and experience within his field including the preparation of budget cost estimates, detailed full design drawings and specifications, and tender documents.

Roy’s experience encompasses a number of mechanical installations within both public and private sector buildings with his expertise lying in boiler house design.

Experience

Jamie joined the team in 2007 as a Trainee Design Engineer whilst attending college to attain Electronic & Electrical Engineering qualifications.

Since qualifying, Jamie is now responsible for designs across a variety of industry sectors from retail to community buildings, but in particular has a good knowledge of healthcare for hospitals and medical centres with a focus on mental health installations.

Jamie’s project experience covers a variety of electrical installations within both public and private sector buildings.

Experience

Mark joined the team in 2015 as a Mechanical Engineer.

Since graduating with a Master's degree Mark was employed as a Graduate Environmental Consultant gaining experience producing computer models and simulations using a range of software including AutoCAD and EDSL TAS. 

Mark’s main role is to support the existing mechanical engineering design team with their projects together with providing energy performance certificates and tailored advice on reducing energy costs and carbon emissions within our Clients’ buildings.

Joe joined the practice in 2017 as a Mechanical Engineer and has three years’ working experience within his field.

He is currently studying towards his HNC Level 4 in ‘Construction and the Built Environment (Building Services Engineering)’.

Joe’s main role is to support the existing mechanical engineering design team with their projects providing additional design capacity across a variety of projects.

Tom joined the team in 2014 as an Apprentice Mechanical Engineer and is attending college to attain his Mechanical Engineering qualifications.

Tom’s main role is to assist the existing mechanical engineering design team with their projects and learn from them whilst studying for his Building Services Engineer qualifications.

Experience

Carol joined the team in October 2010 as Secretary.

Her key role is to offer secretarial support to the team whilst overseeing the general day-to-day office administration.

Having attained her secretarial qualifications through the London Chamber of Commerce she commenced her career in 1987 with BICC.  During her career she has gained vast experience of working within busy office environments, with 21 of these years within a quality conscientious ISO9001 certified manufacturing environment.
